This is the best cake release recipe (in my humble opinion)!!! I make a large batch using the 1:1:1 ratio and keep it in my pantry. It may separate after a while but just remix by hand and voila!
Cake Release
1 cup all-purpose flour
I cup solid vegetable shortening
1 cup vegetable/canola oil
Add these 3 ingredients into your mixing bowl and beat on medium speed till well mixed. Store in a closed container and store in your cupboard.
Prepare your cake tin: Cut a parchment shape to fit in the bottom your pan. With a pastry brush coat your pan with cake release and place your parchment shape in the bottom of your pan. Add your cake batter and bake. You will find your cake has far less crumbs using this recipe.
